If someone plays Jacks or Better and Double Double Bonus, are there any casinos in A.C. with a pay table better than 8/5?  I am usually at the Trop or Hilton and there aren't any other casinos within easy walking distance.  I also know a lot of the regulars in A.C. play Joker Poker for some unknown reason, and you find many more of those machines.  I've heard about one or two machines at certain casinos with 9/6, but you know they are always full.  Thanks for any help.

Ac Hilton has 9/5 DDB at the .25 level on multi denom machines. They are in the raised tier near the Boardwalk entrance. DW was short pay. They have some STP in the same area but didn't check them out.
The High limit area has 9/6 DDB and 9/6 JOB in $5 and &2.

Both these areas are smoking. Don't ask me what they have in Non-Smoking.

AC Joker Poker although a very high varience game can be lucrative  because it pays 4000 for 5OAK and not a Royal. A much more frequent occurance. The Spin Poker progressives in $.05 can keep you entertained for most of the day on a couple of hundred. And if you get lucky and hit 5 Aces across the board take home a sizeable jackpot usually $25Gs and up.

Trump Marina does have 9/6 DDB and 9/6 JOB in $.25

Hope this helps.

If you stay at anyone of the Trump casinos they have a free shuttle to their other casinos.
Don't think Hilton shuttles between the Hilton and Resorts?

Hey Trop23, We were in AC in Nov. at Caesars with walkway to Ballys. Free shuttle between HARRAH'S properties. Jitney's (small, older buses) run continuously in huge loop between casinos, $2. each ride, exact change required. Ask how late they run. Not publicized but there is sidewalk between Harrahs and hot new Borgata along street and you can walk that far-we didn't. When I applied for Black Label slot card at Borgata, Nov 9, and showed Harrah's Diamond Reward Card (or similar status card might work) I received $100 free play that could be split up and used on different VP machines.  Just enter a fraction at a time, as $20. in case you decide to change machines. Hope that is still in effect for you. I would return to $1 DDB at Ballys, end machine, right hand side. I recovered losses of 3 days +, in an hour before we left, with many quads. Probably 9/6. Never give up, just keep putting $ in! LOL Have fun - good luck!

Bally's @ ParkPlace has the best VP in AC by far. Although not a huge selection it is still the best choice. Believe me I know. Sadly and shamefully however, they have cut back on some of the better games such as, BP/$1 and the only full-pay Pick 'em Poker/$1.
There's a bank in the smoking sectionwith about five full-pay GameKing machines: BP; DDB, JB and some others with multi-screen/$1-$2.
In the non-smoking section down towards the Boardwalk exit and to the right, there's another bank with BP/$1, DW and DB.
In WWW stay away from Little Joe's. The once great VP parlor has been "remodeled". In essence what they've done is take out all the full-pays and replaced them with the cheap stuff. (This is where I hit my first RF on 9/6JB...so much for nostaglia.)
And that's it. Hope this was of help. Good Luck.

You don't mention what denom you play, but if you play $ 1. or better, the good news is that you can find 9/6 JB at any of the Trump props or at the Borgata.  There are also some to be found at the Harrah props as well.  In other words, just about anywhere other than where you've been going.  The bad news is, if you are playing for .25, the only place I've ever seen 9/6 JB is at Ballys and as you can imagine, they are very, very popular.  GOOD LUCK !!!

Clap TRUMP TAJ-MAHAL IS INSTALLING NEW VP MACHINE. THE NEW MACHINES INCLUDE DEUCES/JOKERS WILD. THEY HAVE THESE MACHINES IN 5, 25,50, $1,. THEY HAVE ADDED THESE MACHINE AT THE EGO BAR. THEY BAD NEWS IS THAT THE DRINKS ARE NOT FREE WHILE YOU PLAY. WE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT POLICY, NOW WE'LL WAIT AND SEE IF THEY MAKE THE CHANGE. THEY ALSO HAVE SUPER BONUS DEUCES WILD,

Showboat has over 25 machines with quarters 9/6 JOB, also 8/5 bonus, non-progressive. The Hilton does have a bank of 8/5 bonus with a progressive in triple play; hit a Royal on middle line, meter was at $1,199, bad luck was that I pulled a pair of jacks on line 3 and had to have a w-2!

Just to let everyone know the Atlantic City council just passed a complete smoking ban for all casinos. This vote occured this evening.

You will not catch me dead in AC from this point forward.

If anyone is intersted the Meadows Casino in Washington Pa. has the best in VP including 9/6 machines. I have had more success there thaqn any AC casinos.

We found the best paying machines right now are the Triple Play multi games. If you play .25 per hand at any fomat whether it is Dueces Wild up to Double Double bonus you will have a good day.

The Dollar 9\6 VP machines near the center dollar slot area have been paying well lately.

Bd-they are probably going to lose me and my husband as well-and we play 2 or 3 weekends a month. Thats ridiculous. The partial ban was working well I thought. I am welling to settle for less of a choice of games but an area I can smoke. I cant imagine that in this day and age that they cant come up with a ventilation system that works! Going outside to smoke is not the point-we like to sit at the machine with a cup of coffee and a cig-or maybe hit a good hand a celebrate with a drink and a smoke! Its part of the whole experience.

Aint that a darn shame! I've never been to AC and it looks like I may not visit now. There are several air recirculation systems on the market but it seems as though the casinos aren't willing to spend the money. Many Nevada casinos have them installed and walking in doesn't smell like the smoky casinos of old, in fact it's pretty nice, even for one who smokes. I like a smoke and a cup of Joe or a glass of JD once in awhile.Wink

Good Bye AC!  Cry  BD Where is Washington PA? I'm waiting for the time when you can't drink alcohol in public and when you can't get a Burger. Maybe it's time to start disposing of all old and infirm people too.

The AC City Council has just cut off their nose to spite their face. Revenues are down, Casinos are fighting for every customer. Mailers, phone calls, all kinds of perks including cash just for showing up. The revenues from the Casinos have been rebuilding the City slowly but surely and now?

Boops, I agree . It seems like acommendations could have been doable.

Oh well, I guess more people will now get out of this life alive.Wink

Just think Faygo, all those extra millions of people alive because they didn't breathe second-hand smoke but who's gonna care for them? Donald Trump made a valiant effort to postpone the ban or cut the smoking section down even more but no dice. City council did allow casinos to install smoking rooms but without gaming of any sort.

Faygo,

Washington Pa is 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. The Meadows is really a harness racing track that was awarded a casino license last spring. Since then they have been one of the biggest per machine income casino in the east. They offer many more poker machines than you would normaly find at competing casinos. Payout has ben very good.

Thanks Bd, that is only a couple of hours further than AC. When their precious Boardwalk rots under their feet, they might wise up.Angry

If your interested the Hollywood casino near Harrisburg Pa is really nice. They offer the same games as the Meadows, their casino is styled like an old hollywood movie house.

Thanks for all the great replies to my questions concerning 9/6 VP.  I don't mind playing $1, but don't quite have the cash for the $2 and $5, therefore the high limit area at the Hilton is out of my range.  Although I quit smoking a few years agoCry, I have no problem playing in a smoking area and frankly find the people to be friendlier!  I must have missed the 9/6 machines, or, for some reason, I tend to play DW in the area near the boardwalk; I'll have to check more closely when I return in June.  As far as I remember, aren't there just one long row with Game Kings (or whatever they are called) on both sides, for a total of about 20 machines in the 25 cents up in the smoking area?  Do you know if this is the area with the 9/6?  I also have used the jitneys, but tend to stick to one (or two at the most) casinos because of the comps; hence my play is at the Trop and Hilton for the most part.

Again, thanks for all your help.  (BTW, Hilton 23 is the same as Trop 23; for some reason it wouldn't take my former password for the Forum!)

Went to the Meadows yesterday (May 21, 08).  It is as bad a casino as I have seen anywhere, and I have been to them on three continents.  Lines, smoke-filled, parking lots overflowing, and we found Zero 9/6 DDB, JoB  --  8/5 and downward on all the machines that we saw.   Maybe the new casino that is going up in Pittsburgh will have better pays, but certainly the Meadows is horrible.

I dont know what casino you visited but you surely are not talking about the Temporary Casino at the Meadows near Pittsburgh. I was there just last night playing 9/6 DDB VP at 3 different locations within the casino. You may have a point about it being over crowded but again this is to be expected since they are paying out better than any casino in Pa or WV. I guess you must be one of those AC people who have been posting on websites trying to make the Pa casinos look bad, if you not then you must of had high expectations since the real casino hasnt been built yet.

As for it being smoke filled wrong again! They have a positive air return system within that place that other casinos wish they could afford and again within a temporary casino. Again it sounds to me that you are the kind of gambler that we locals dont like to see visit the Meadows, please take you business to Wheeling Island or AC.

No 9/6 DDB VP, Please!

Harrah's Atlantic City has a few 9/6 DDB machines,  but they are popular.  Most of the others are 8/5 or worse.  BTW, the 7 Stars lounge is outstanding.  Cheers.

I'm headed to AC this coming week.

I've culled the info off of VPFREE2 and am taking that with me..

I haven't seen too much online with regards to funbooks, promos, slot points etc.

Do you folks have opinions on what the best slot club is, right now, in AC?  I haven't been there in 19 years.

Thanks

The AC Hilton is the only one I know of ( unless their sister property Resorts) that has same day Cashback as opposed to Bounce Back Cash. They are fairly loose with Promo Cash as opposed to other offers I receive. They still operate the old fashioned ( theorectical loss) way of giving comp rooms, meals up front if you qualify. Most, if not all the rest,  determine what you have earned at the end of your stay. I get offers from Trump Marina & Tropicanna also. If you want, PM me with your e-mail address and I will forward any that comes my way.
Good Luck

Harrah`s has a promotion that if you earn 50 rewards points you can get a free buffet. I`m not sure if that promo. is still going on or if they stopped it. The buffet is excellent. Also, If you earn so many points the parking is free. Parking is $5 minimum. They were handing out free coupon books a few months ago for new players.
I`m leaving tomorrow for A.C. the airshow is on Wednesday. They expect 500,000 to 750,000 people this year.
Good Luck

ALSO:
I like the Borgata because I have been lucky there and the food is GREAT. The Borgata has a promotion where if you are a rated player at another casino ( ex. Harrah`s Diamond card ) . when you sign up for he Borgata card they will upgrade you to there Black card. The Black card will allow you to go into there player club ( The Amphoria Lounge ) IMO this is the best players club in A.C. But the fee to enter in the club is 10 COMP DOLLARS. If want to look into this and get a black card and play enough to get admision to the club the food and drinks are great.
Are you driving? If so, if you pay for any parking fee get a receipt. The receipt is also called a transfer. you may use the transfer ( receipt ) to park free at another casino. All transfers EXPIRE at 6:00 am.

Even the low level card at Hilton gets you the parking (Valet) for $3.  I guess it boils down to what you want from this visit. If you intend on going back soon then Bounce Back Cash is ok. If you are going to wait another 19 years, same day cash back is best.  Cost of room is important too. Lot of mid week bargains, even on the Boardwalk. Check the Casino websites for info.

We spent 5 days at the Hilton earlier in the month and had 2 nights comped and the other 3 were $70.00 per night. I normally stay at the Trop but decided to change it up this time around. The thing that I like about the Hilton is its size. Being smaller than any other casino in AC their overhead is much lower that is why I think they have paying out the best. If your a slot player the dollar machines in the smoking sections always hit well. their poker machine on the main floor are ok but there is a section off to the side of the main in the smoking section that has some very loose machines. Made out pretty good on several nights playing a $1.00 9/6 DDB and JP.
The only downfall for the Hilton is its location being on the southern end of the boardwalk and away from all of the bigger casinos.

I just got back tonight from A.C. stayed at Harrah`s Sunday and Monday. then we stayed at the Borgata Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. As far as poker and playing the machines. I couldn`t by a card unless I went to the gift shop and bought the whole deck. I could not get any machines to work in my favor. My casino friends that i have in A.C. did very well.

So I`ll just tell you about the the other things. Harrah`s we just went to the pool and had a coupon for 2 free buffet on Monday. No much play at Harrah`s. At The Borgata tuesday night Our Host was able to put us in for the Atlantic City Airshow Dinner Reception in the main ballroom. The food was excellent and we were able to talk with the pilots and crew members of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The U.S. Army Golden Knights Paratroopers were there and many other pilots and staff that were performing for the show on Wednesday.
The Borgata had shuttle service to and from the show by bus. The Borgata had there own viewing area on the beach at center stage. They set up a large tent with tables and chairs and unlimited food and drinks. There was no alcohol served. The weather was 90 plus and very humid. they also had chairs set on the beach to watch the show.

The size of the Hilton is one of the things that draws Tangueray and I to it. Off the elevator, 15 steps around the corner and your into the action.Big%20smile
It doesn't hurt that our luck (?) level has increased dramatically over the recent 3 trips there.Wink

JimDW, sounds like a good time. Actually being able to converse with the Pilots had to be pretty cool. Thumbs%20Up  If your going to buy a deck of cards, buy the ones with the hole drilled through them, much cheaper. I've had those kinds of trips where the only things that pay are the change machines and the Pop machines.
