Attended a meeting yesterday on the above. Starting Oct 1, the new tier system will roll out. Some details are still pending, but there will still be 4 levels. Level 2 will now requier 600 points and level 3 1400 points per cycle. These are both reductions. VP machines will still pay only 1 point ( now being called momentum dollars) for 470- cycled through. There will still be no points earned vp machines too, though supposedly some sort of credit will be earned toward tier status while playing them. There are several complicated levels of additional incentives that will be put into place. Comp rooms will now for most players require use of choice points or regular points and no longer be free. For level 2 and 3 players, choice points will expire monthly with new ones being issued every month. There is more, but it all sounds extremely complicated and the casino doesn't have all of the details worked out yet. Most players at the meeting were very unhappy about how complicated this system will be. One very high level player told the panel in the question and answer session couldn't you just "keep it simple stupid."

Funny coincidence or??? I just stumbled on an Indian/tribal related website that states that there are 470 Indian gaming operations in the United States. Mohegan Sun casino recently upped its video poker dollars cycled through a machine to $470 dollars to earn 1 point. Wow, what a coincidence....hmmmmm!!!

Lol, Lol, Olds442jetaway, I wonder if they think only the rich go there and play dollar and above, because over half America is middle class and not rich, which I would think that was (Mohegan Sun) bread and butter, but guess they think there losing to much to middle class. Sad! Yes that is weird 470 Indian casinos and $470 to get one point. ouch! I thought $340 at Foxwoods was high I would never get any points at Mohegan Sun. The need for more profit! I guess be seeing you at Foxwoods soon.(lol) Sam

It looks like Foxwoods is already starting to respond and get a jump start on the new Mohegan tier system kicking in on Oct 1st. Foxwoods is now advertising (can read the detail on their website) they will match any casino offer from Ct,Ny,Nj,and Ri casinos. There are few rules to this though. It is best to read the entire offer and disclaimer on their website. From what I read and heard on the news, they will match one offer per week up to $ 500-. Doesn't matter if it is for free play, gas, food, rooms, etc. You have to bring the offer with your name on it and present it at the player's club. Also, if you have a current Foxwoods offer, they will subtract that amount from the amount of your offer to bring them even. Still not a bad deal and I plan to take advantage of it.

Just received a letter from Mohegan announcing Momentum.  Four status levels based on "Status Points"
SOAR - 4,000 points, similar to Sachem
ASCEND - 1,400 points, similar to Sagamore
LEAP - 600 points, similar to Wolf
CORE - Players card

No info on how status points are earned.

"Momemtun Achievement Awards" when status is made.  May include free slot play, match play.  Qualifying period every six months as before.

Existing player points converted to "Momentum Dollars".  Earning rate dependent on Status.  No info on the earning rate.

Lounge access, hotel stays, concert tickets - "Flexibility to choose the ones you want"

New card supposed to arrive before October 1

Just back from another "visit" to Mohegan Sun. Talked to several hosts in between playing. They have had several meetings on this and everyone has a headache. It is so complicated nobody knows or is telling anything on how the various types of points are earned and how much rooms will cost etc. Reminds me of Obamacare which as of now we are all facing come Oct 1.

Spoke with the head of Executive Hosts. They will not be publishing coin-in for VP tier points. However, it seems one can figure it out by checking current progress on kiosks when the program goes in effect.

The fact that they are not telling us how much to cycle through to earn status points is not good news. That probably means it will be a sizeable amount. Also I received a letter from them yesterday stating that there is double points the rest of the week for those who want to play catch up before the new system kicks in on Oct. 1. I don't know if the d points applies to all though. Why they have to make this so complicated is beyond me. Momentum dollars, choice points, status points, other rewards, etc.,etc, etc, and the only ones that you can actually spend are the Momentum dollars. For anyone who cares, Foxwoods will match your tier status you have at Mohegan without a wait, but you have to never have had a card at Foxwoods. I don't know anyone who falls into that category since the casinos are only 15 minutes apart. They are still matching offers though at Foxwoods and I plan to continue to take advantage of that.

Why would a casino build a Loyalty Card system that the client cannot understand, when the only reason for having such a system in the first place is to entice the player to play more? Confused

Why? Quite obvious from the preceding posts it was put together by a committee. It is the old one hump or two story. Smile
